The storyline of 'Sita Ramam' Movie:

Sita Ramam, Hanu Raghavapudi's stunning modern-day recreation of the traditional Ram-Sita romance, is the kind of film that may even convert those who aren't fans of love stories. Sita Ramam, with its magnificent cinematography, heartfelt music, and a compelling love tale set against the rising tensions between India and Pakistan in the 1960s, has its heart in the right place and effectively expresses its message about love and humanity triumphing over conflict. It's the kind of picture that proves great romance stories never go out of style.

1964 is the year. Our story begins in Kashmir when Pakistan declares war on Kashmir. Insurgents have already planned their infiltration. As tensions between India and Pakistan escalate, we meet Lieutenant Ram (Dulquer Salmaan), a national hero who recently saved the lives of several Kashmir Muslims. People from all over the country write messages to Ram, despite the fact that he admits in an interview with All India Radio that he has no familial ties. He moves from being an orphan to having a large family scattered across the country overnight.

One such letter comes from Sita, who writes without disclosing her address. We witness Ram fall in love with Sita and embark on a trip to find her after discovering a clue in one of her letters. The plot skips forward 20 years to find Afreen (Rashmika Mandanna) looking for Sita to send her a letter Ram had written for her. As Afreen sets out to track down Sita, she learns about the love tale and Ram and Sita from those who were close to them. The rest of the story revolves around what happened to Ram and Sita and why they haven't spoken in 20 years.

If the Ramayana was about the hunt for Sita after Raavan kidnapped her, this modern-day story about Ram and Sita is about the search for Ram. While this is primarily a love story, there is an underlying aspect of mystery that is masterfully maintained throughout the film. In the end, it is effectively unraveled. This is not a simple love story, but one that seeks to express its message of choosing humanity over religion, borders, and countries without ever going overboard. The film and script deserve praise for how sensitively they addressed the India-Pakistan conflict. It's one of the more mature depictions of the decades-long conflict between the two countries.

Final Verdict on 'Sita Ramam' Movie:

Overall, Sita Ramam is a charming love story. The movie features a good first half and a fantastic second half. The brilliant performances by the entire cast, the engaging narrative, and the poetic writing will leave you feeling sorrowful and heartwarming. The film may not be overpowering to the people because it is concentrated on a simple love story and conflict. Almost every department performed admirably. Director Hanu has created a lovely and elegant love story that should undoubtedly be seen on the big screen. Without a doubt, you should watch this film. It is completely worth your money.
